How to unregister with the district labour office?

When does the unemployed person is obliged to unregister?

The unemployed registered with the district labour office are obligated to inform about:

  • undertaking employment or other paid work,
  • starting business activities,
  • occurrence of other factors that may result in losing the status, within 7 calendar days and unregister with the district labour office.

Moreover, an unemployed person has a right to unregister with the district labour office at any time without justification.

remember!

An unemployed person who undertakes employment, other gainful work or economic activity without notifying an appropriate district labour office about this fact, shall be subject to financial penalty.

The process of unregistering step by step:

The procedure depends on the labour office. Every office has its own preferences, e.g. you may unregister by:

  • submitting a declaration along with a document that confirms the loss of the status (a contract of employment, application for the entry to the register of business activities),
  • submitting a declaration of resigning from the status of an unemployed person whereby the reason is stated without any documents.

The declaration (documents) listed above may be delivered to the office in various ways:

  • personally,
  • by post,
  • by a third party,
  • by fax,
  • via e-mail (in this case the documents must be scanned),
  • via the www.praca.gov.pl module by selecting the option "taking up a Job application", "application for starting-up business/business resumption" or "deprivation of the unemployment status application".

Particular labour offices may not accept all of the above ways of notifying about a new job, or other reason that obligates to unregister. Please do contact you district labour office before you send such declaration.
