Work exchange service

What is it?

Work exchange service consists in:

  • helping the unemployed and those seeking employment in undertaking appropriate employment and helping the employers in finding employees with the expected vocational qualifications,
  • gathering job offers,
  • providing employers with information on job candidates corresponding to the submitted job offer,
  • informing the unemployed, those seeking employment and employers about the current situation and expected shifts on the local labour market,
  • initiating and organizing contacts between employers and the unemployed and those seeking employment, 
  • cooperation of district labour office in exchange of information on potential employment and training within the territory of their operation,
  • informing the unemployed about their rights and obligations.

Work exchange services concerning the freedom of movement of the employees on the territory of member countries of the EU, EEA or other countries that concluded agreements on free movement of people with the European Union, district and provincial labour offices realize exclusively by the EURES network.

on the basis of what principles does the work exchange operate?

Work exchange services for the unemployed and those seeking employment are provided by district and provincial labour offices free of charge, according to the following principles:

  • availability of work exchange services  for those seeking employment and for employers,
  • those seeking employment are not constrained to use work exchange services, as it voluntary for them to do so,
  • it is a duty to provide those seeking employment with help in finding employment or other paid work on equal terms, irrespective of their sex, age, disability, ethnic origin, nationality, sexual preferences, political convictions and religious denomination, or trade union membership,
  • vacancy submitted to a job center shall be openly announced to the unemployed and those seeking employment.
