Reimbursement of the costs borne on employing an employee assisting a disabled person

When the employer may apply for the reimbursement of the costs borne on employing an employee assisting a disabled person?

You may apply for this refund, when you employ an employee assisting a disabled person who will facilitate the disabled person’s communication at work and help to perform activities impossible or difficult to execute by the disabled at the workplace.

What is the maximum amount of support?

If you apply for this support, you can receive a refund, which is equal to the amount of hours that the assistant has worked in relation to the amount of hours that he has worked assisting a disabled employee (the amount of hours that the assistant devotes solely to help the disabled person cannot exceed 20% of his working hours per month).

What should you do to receive the refund?

You should submit an application form to the organizational unit competent for the employment of a disabled person that is designated by the district governor or the mayor of the city with the district rights. It is necessary also to provide a medical certificate indicating the need of employing the disabled person’s assistant to help that disabled at the workplace.

useful information:

Costs that incurred prior to signing the contract are not reimbursable. In case you have not received the amount of refund you applied for, you may submit an application again within 14 days of receiving the information. PFRON will issue the decision on the amount of funding.

Additionally you may receive reimbursement of the cost of training the person assisting the disabled in above mentioned activities. Reimbursement equals 100 percent of the training cost, however it cannot exceed the amount of the minimal remuneration for work.
