Loan for Furnishing a Workstand

It is a kind of financial aid offered by the labour office for furnishing a workstand in order to employ a designated unemployed person.

Who can receive a loan for furnishing a workstand?

Below is a list of entities that are eligible to apply for the loan:

  • an entity conducting business activities;
  • a nonpublic kindergarten and nonpublic school referred to Act of 7 September 1991
    on the Educational System (Dz. U. 2004 no. 256 item 2572 as amended);
  • a crèche or local children’s club established or run by natural persons, corporations
    and organisational unit without legal personality referred to in the regulations concerned with care for children under 3 years of age;
  • a natural person, corporation or organisational unit without legal personality, residing  or having a seat in the territory of the Republic of Poland, that is an owner of an agricultural holding as referred to in the Act of 15 November 1984 on the Agricultural Tax (Dz. U. 2013 item 1381 as amended) or a special branch of agricultural production as referred  to in the Act of 26 July 1991 on  Personal Income Tax (Dz. U. 2012 item 361  as amended) or in the Act of 15 February 1992 on Legal Person’s Income Tax (Dz. U. 2014 item 851 as amended), that have employed over the last six months in every month at least one full-time employee.

You may apply for the loan, if you meet all of the requirements listed below:

  • you do not have any arrears in repayment of the start-up business loan or the loan for furnishing a workstand;
  • you do not have any arrears on payments of social insurance contributions, health insurance contributions as well as the Labour Fund and the Guaranteed Employee Benefits Fund contributions;
  • you do not fall behind on any other public levies;
  • during the period of 2 years preceding the day of submitting the application you were not sentenced for anyffences against public trade.  

Why is it worth applying for?

The loan may be granted in the amount indicated in the contract, however it cannot exceed 600% of the average monthly remuneration.
The interest rate remains steady and it amounts to 0.25 of the discount rate of the National Bank
of Poland.   

What is the repayment period?

If you receive the loan, you will be repaying it in fixed installments. The repayment period must not be longer than 3 years. Unlike the start-up business loan, this loan does not allow any repayment deferrals.

What should you do in order to receive the loan?

If you want to receive the loan, you should submit the relevant application form together with the security for the loan repayment or return to the competent district labour office.

Useful information

Furnishing of a workstand for a designated unemployed cannot be financed from the loan and reimbursement at the same time.

If you fail to maintain the employment for the contractual 12 months or breach any other contract terms, you will be obliged to return the amount of the loan that is left to repay together with the statutory interest calculated from the day of receiving the loan within 6 months of receiving a notice.    

In case of necessity to return the loan, the amount to return is increased by the amount of the profit that resulted from the difference in the interest applicable to the part of the loan that was already repaid and the interest applicable on the day of receiving the loan.
