The rights of the disabled who run business activities
If you are a disabled person who has already set up a business of their own, you are eligible for the following forms of support financed by National Disabled Persons Rehabilitation Fund (PFRON):
- refund of social insurance premiums,
- subsidy of up to 50% of the interest on the bank loan taken for continuation of self-employment or agricultural business activity.
Refund of social insurance premiums:
If you run a business activity, you may apply to PFRON for refund of social insurance premiums, provided that you do not fall behind with paying those premiums. The refund includes old-age pension insurance as well as disability and survivor’s pension insurance. It is granted as de minimis aid. You should submit the application for the refund for a given month to PFRON. The application may be submitted in the form of a paper document or via the Internet. In the same way you can receive the confirmation of sending the application.
The amount of the refund is as follows:
- 100% of the premiums in the case of people with severe disabilities,
- 60% of the premiums in the case of people with moderate disabilities,
- 40% of the premiums in the case of people with mild disabilities.
If you are a disabled farmer or a farmer who is obliged to pay social insurance for a disabled household member, you are also eligible for the refund of farmer’s social insurance premiums (KRUS). In such a case, the refund covers:
- old age and disability insurance as well as
- accident, health and maternity insurance.
Subsidy of up to 50% of the interest on the bank loan taken for continuation of self-employment or agricultural business activity
If you are self-employed or run agricultural business activities, you are eligible for the subsidy of up to 50% of the interest on the bank loan taken for continuation of this business, provided that:
- you have not received either loan for initiation of self-employment or agricultural business activities from PFRON or one-off subsidy for undertaking business activities from the Labour Fund,
- the loan has been wholly repaid or written-off.
If you want to benefit from this form of support, you should submit an application in an organizational unit assigned by the district governor or the mayor of the city with district rights. In most cases, these are District Family Support Centers and Municipal Family Support Centre appropriate for the place of residence of a disabled person.
Documents that you should submit along with the application form:
- copy of the medical certificate indicating the level of disability,
- certificate of no tax arrears and business registration certificate from the tax Office,
- loan agreement and the repayment schedule,
- declaration that you have not received a loan for the initiation of self-employment or agricultural business activities from PFRON,
- de minimis (state aid) declaration whereby you sate whether you have received any financial aid from the state for the last three years before submitting the application.
On the basis of an agreement concluded between the district governor and you, you may apply for the refund of up to 50% of the interest on the bank loan taken for continuation of self-employment or agricultural business activity. It constitutes de minimis aid.
Remember!
Even if you have already set up your own business, you can benefit from the above forms of support.
