If you are eligible for childcare leave you may apply to your employer for reducing working hours. The reduced working time cannot be shorter than half-time. You can benefit from this provision during the entire period of eligibility for childcare leave. You are obliged to apply at least 21 days before you start to work in the new scheme. According to the Labour Code your employer is obliged to enable you to return to the same job you have had before the maternity leave, parental or childcare leave. If it is impossible, he or she must offer you an equivalent position that matches you qualifications. Moreover, you remuneration for work cannot be lower than the one before childcare leave.
